Simple Weather Lookup Chart

I have been looking for a decent Weather generator for my game all week> Now until I find that darn world Generator program that can give me the weather or the whole year I think I will be using this.
I will add how I think I will be using the tables to make them work the best for me. Instead of rolling once at nighttime and once for day. I will roll twice still .. but the first roll will be for the weather. My second roll will be for the direction on the chart the weather will take. SO If I roll a 2 and a 5. I will get the results of the weather for the next two days.
Day 1. Scattered Showers, then Cloudy.
Day 2. Clear and Cool then a Chilly night.

So if I roll a 2 and a 1. It would go from Scattered showers to Rain.

As I continue to make my prototype DM screen (alterations to the rather sparse 5e D&D DM screen, see the progress on it HERE), I sometimes create home-brew charts of my own. Here is a very simple weather generator for a traditional 4-season climate.

Dungeon Master’s Screen Review

Rebloged for the idea of this addition to the DM screen alone ! “reference index to all of the tables and rules in the core rulebooks” PLEASE !
also you echo much of my feeling that nearly half of the screen is of little to no use art or fluff. Sadly. I really liked it when I first looked at it.. It took a day or so of looking at the use lessness of it to sink in.

I received the new Dungeon Master’s Screen last week and wanted to give my thoughts on it. Let me preface all of this by saying that owning the Dungeon Master Screen is in no way necessary to DM a game. It is more of a nice to have accessory. To me a good DM screen needs to serve three functions. First, it needs to be pleasant to look at on the players’ side since they are going to spend plenty of time staring at it. Next it needs to adequately block the players’ view of what the DM is doing behind it. Finally, the screen should include useful information on the DM’s side for quick reference.

Best things that happened to RPG

Excellent,Excellent Read ! So much can be gleaned from this post for GM’s. I myself am a huge fan all of these things myself and I use or have used nearly each in my own game.
Nodes ? Check but I call them Plot points.
Aspects ? Check
Tucker’s Kobolds ? Ask my players about dealing with monsters in waves sometime.
Online Generators ? Excellent tool for the GM on the go or working on a crunch.
I would even add one.
Is there an App for that ?

RPG evolved since times of Mr. Arneson & Gygax awesome duo. People develop new ideas all the time. Some are good, some total shit. As for former, here are a few things Bucyrus likes and uses very often:

A great collection of Ancient books that you could bring a ton of flavor to your games ! I am sure one or two of my friends out there will look seriously at putting some of these books to use in their games.

“More Game of Thrones, Less Time Bandits”

A good post. As a DM you have to remember your players are as much a key part of the story as the story you are telling. If you they are not having fun. Your game will quickly become dry up to a dead husk of enjoyment. There is a line as a DM we have to walk carefully. We are not slaves to our players and not everyone can be happy all of the time. The theme of something to love, something to hate and something to fear is a great mix in games.

latestSince 5th edition launched, I have been playing D&D regularly, and loving it. The group consists of my son, a guy I played D&D with back in high school, plus his daughter, and a good friend I met after we both were pretty much done playing D&D back in college. It has been a fantastic experience, and I have been overwhelmingly happy with the way things have gone so far. My players seem to enjoy themselves, too.

I was chatting with the buddy I met in college about the campaign. He ran one session, and did a fantastic job of it. We love discussing ways to make the game better. I know storytelling and interaction are two things he really loves, and I asked him if he felt like the game was meeting his needs in this respect. What he said really threw me for a loop.

DD-5th-Releases

First of all:

AAAAARRRGGGHH

Wizard’s original plan was to release the Players Handbook in August, the Monster Manual in September, an adventure module in October, and the Dungeon Master’s Guide in November. They delayed the DMG’s release until December for reasons that were never exactly explained (but I think I can explain later on), but made good use of the delay by using the promise of previews to raise money for charity, with some quite dramatic success. Then when the new release came around, Wizards of the Coast failed to print enough.

Two other core rulebooks saw international release that was perfectly timed, and yet somehow completing the set proved too difficult?

Regulars of Dungeons & Dragons products, you may already have the same mantra as I have, “Love D&D, hate Wizard’s of the Coast.” Perhaps it’d be more accurate to focus that dislike onto Hasbro (the parent…
