Unearthed Arcana: Building Encounters Alternitive rules

If you are a game master you might like this version of Encounter Building Rules a bit more. It is certainly worth a look and only 4 pages in length. One of the things I found most useful here is the section on building encounters of Solo monsters Vs. Partys. The suggestion taking a nod back in the idea of “Solo” monsters in 4E and saying if your players encounter a Solo creature is should be Legendary.

On a personal note, I like this option very much. The best part about these charts is they throw out the math and break it down by CR and Character level. I think that once a GM gets use to this mindset. He will be able to build encounters much quicker. This can only be a good thing for many of my fellow GM’s.
