Figure of the Week: Thanksgiving Mouselings

Thanksgiving Mouselings

Today’s figures are Reaper Dark Heaven Legends: Thanksgiving Mouselings; Male & female pilgrim and male Indian. They were fun to paint, I really like the Reaper Mouselings. I have most of the set and will post them later when I finish painting them.

Below in the Related Links section, I put links to the Mousefolk and Ratfolk. These are for my Aquatica Homebrew world. They were created using the Pathfinder advance race rules.

Figure of the Week: Warmachine Gatorman Posse

Gatorman Posse

Today’s figures are the Warmachine Gatorman Posse. They have a variety of weapons: the fighters have halberds and are in various poses, the witch-doctor leader, a necklace of bones and a feathered headdress.

I had fun painting these figures, I doubt that I will use them in the Warmachine game, but they will work as lizardfolk for my homebrew Aquatica world. My variation of lizardfolk with be finished this week, so I will put a link here when it is complete.

Figure of the Week: Goroloth

Goroloth

Today’s figure is a Reaper Dark Heaven Legends monster called Goroloth. It appears to be a mixture of shark, and an ancient ancestor of the illithid combined with an aboleth. It has two sets of dorsal and pectoral fins and a tri-finned tail (both horizontal and vertical, multiple eyes (12), 4 squid-like appendages, gills, bony protrusions, and various other growths. In the deep various parts of his appendages have a bio-luminescent glow.

Figure of the Week: Female Elf Fighter

Female Elf Fighter

Today’s figure is a vintage Ral Partha figure from 1990. She is a female elf fighter or ranger: wearing a chain shirt, a leather harness, pauldrons and greaves, wielding a longsword and shield. I could not find her figure online and don’t remember where I bought her, probably a game store in Georgia.

Character

Since she is an elf, I painted her in woodland colors so she would blend in. I used her for a woodland sentinel (ranger) character that I played years ago, while we still adventured in 3rd edition.

Figure of the Week: Sea Creature of Blood Reef

Sea Creature of Blood Reef

Today’s figure is the Sea Creature of Blood Reef, it is from the Reaper Bones (plastic line). It only has natural weapons and armor.

I painted it in dark blues and greens with a blue wash to shade the crevices. I decided on yellow eyes, as a lure similar to the deep-sea anglerfish.

I had similar problems with this plastic figure as with many previous ones, the paint not sticking. I’ve tried washing them in soapy water and priming them to no avail. The soap doesn’t work and the primer seems to melt the first layer of plastic, leaving them sticky

The closest creature that I could find stats for is the Sahuagin. I’ve always like this evil race.

Here are some creatures that would go well in an encounter with this creature.

Figure of the Week: Tiik Warrior

Tiik Warrior

Today’s figure is from the Reaper Bones line, a Tiik Warrior. It only has natural weapons and armor, has an eyestalk like a deep sea anglerfish. I like painting aquatic figures because of my water-world Aquatica Homebrew. This figure was painted in varying shades of blue and green for camouflage in the deep. My only problem with this figure is that the Bones Reaper plastic miniatures don’t hold all paints well, so you have to put on multiple coats.

Check out this previous post for creature stats that I found. Kuo-toa and Locathah are the closest races that I could find to fit their look. Of course this one includes the eyestalk of the deep-sea anglerfish.
