Kickstarter Watch: Savage Worlds Buccaneer through hell & high water

Yesterday on Kickstarter Fabled Environment and Yellow Piece games joined forces and together they hope to bring you Buccaneer Through Hell & High Water. Powered by the Savage World system. It seems very likely that this project will fund as at the time of the writing of this post they are closing on being just shy of a thousand dollars from their goal with a month to go.

Of late I don’t talk have not talked as much about Kickstarters as I once did. Mostly because unless it is one of the companies I feel very confident will produce a quality product. I don’t like to recommend my readers taking the risk on kicking it from what I have to say alone.

With Fabled Environments on board, I am confident that this is a good bet. I know Charles White personal and after seeing the extent and struggle he went through to bring his last project to light Olympus inc. (I am reading that for a review right now) I have no doubt that this project will see the same follow through.

So obviously this project is about playing pirates. More than just pirates on the high seas this takes place in around the late 1600’s and early 1700’s after the “Voodoo uprising” in the Caribbean. This blends together dark magics, swords and swashbuckling with mythical monstrosities all on the high seas using the dynamic might of the Savage Worlds Ruleset.

So my personal thoughts on the setting and project. As of yet, I have not had a peek at it but I will say that I think the setting/ruleset is a natural blend. Since it is nearly entirely funded I would have to say that I am not the only one that feels this way.

One last note I will have to say I love the Add On’s of this project. How dare you guys make such awesome choices. Well done! You can follow the link and head on over to Kickstarter to give this project a look!
